New publication on Liechtenstein foreign policy

At a press conference on Monday, Foreign Minister Aurelia Frick presented the new publication on Liechtenstein foreign policy. In less than 40 pages, the publication provides an overview of the thematic priorities of Liechtenstein foreign policy and outlines key areas of activity.

The publication is structured according to the basic values put into practice by Liechtenstein foreign policy – reliability, commitment, and solidarity. The publication does not attempt to portray and assess Liechtenstein’s foreign relations in their entirety. Instead, it aims to make Liechtenstein foreign policy easily accessible in a condensed form. With short texts, illustrations, and an attractive design, the publication is intended to spark interest in Liechtenstein and its foreign policy.

Apart from preserving sovereignty, the overarching goal of foreign policy is to represent Liechtenstein’s interests in relation to other countries and in international organisations. Foreign Minister Aurelia Frick is convinced that foreign policy depends on support from the public: “Ultimately, a successful foreign policy must come from within. It must be supported by the people and is thus also a policy of interests for Liechtenstein.”

The report can be downloaded from the website of the Government and of the Office for Foreign Affairs in German and English. A hardcopy can also be requested at info.aaa@llv.li.
